Brian’s Testimonials
“As Chair of Trustees at The Cancer Support Centre Sutton Coldfield, I have seen first-hand the transformational impact Brian Davies has had on our charity over the past two years.
Through a carefully structured approach to corporate partnerships, events and Trust fundraising, Brian has helped us more than double our income during that period. His work has not been theoretical, it has delivered tangible financial growth and strengthened the long-term sustainability of the organisation.
In particular, Brian has secured support from a number of new Trusts and Foundations, unlocking significant grant income that has enabled us to reopen five days per week, something we had not been able to sustain for several years following the pandemic. That change alone has had a profound impact on the number of clients we are able to support across our community.
Beyond income generation, Brian has helped shift the mindset of the Trustees. We are now able to plan confidently for the next few years, focusing on growth and service development rather than managing declining reserves. His strategic insight, energy and hands-on approach have been instrumental in that progress.”
— Trevor Saadi, Chair of Trustees, The Cancer Support Centre Sutton Coldfield
“As Headmaster of King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys, I have worked closely with Brian Davies during a significant period of strategic fundraising and alumni engagement for the School.
What distinguishes Brian from many fundraising consultants is that he is not a distant adviser operating in the background. He is hands-on, visible and embedded in the life of the School. He works on the front line, meeting alumni, speaking with parents, engaging major supporters and building networks that translate into meaningful, long-term philanthropic support.
Brian combines strategic oversight with practical delivery. He does not simply produce plans or reports; he actively helps cultivate relationships that lead to significant donations. His ability to engage credibly with former pupils has materially strengthened our development work.
Importantly, Brian takes time to understand the School’s priorities, whether that is enhancing our careers provision, supporting Oxbridge preparation, or developing major capital projects, and ensures that fundraising activity is aligned with educational impact. He works closely with me and the senior leadership team, equipping us with the insight, structure and confidence needed to speak persuasively about our vision.
His approach is relational rather than transactional, strategic yet grounded, and always focused on long-term sustainability. I would not hesitate to recommend Brian to any school seeking to grow its fundraising capability in a thoughtful and impactful way.”
— Russell Bowen, Headmaster, King Edward VI Camp Hill School For Boys
“We worked closely with Brian for several years. His understanding of education from his time as Teacher and a Development Director is exemplary.
He is always a pleasure to work with and has a detailed understanding of both fundraising and relationship building principles both in schools and the charity sector and applies these principles well tailoring them to individual situations and scenarios to great benefit.
He has worked previously on a number of development projects with our school and shows true innovation in engaging stakeholders to support the achievement of core organisational aims and actively seeks out opportunities for the school in the development of available resources and stakeholder growth.”
— Graham Swindells, Finance & Operations Director, Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School
“As the owner of the Ark Media Group, I have worked with Brian throughout the last eight years in his roles at both BVGS and UKST. His strategic approach and ability to forge impactful connections have led to fantastic business opportunities for my company.
I have attended many events that Brian has organised. They have been enjoyable, well organised and there have been introductions to new contacts throughout.
Brian worked closely with Ark Video to support a number of awareness campaigns, including one where a video we produced was awarded the Charity Film People's Choice Award. This was fantastic publicity for Ark Video on a local and national level and has enabled us to work with more organisations in the charity sector moving forward.
I would urge other businesses to be part of any partnership programmes of the schools and charities that Brian supports, as he will add value to your company by making introductions and referrals to individuals and companies. This will be a mixture of the vast network he already has, as well as new connections he meets, and who he thinks you will be able to work with in the future.”
— Phil Arkinstall, CEO, Ark Media Group
“I have worked extensively with Brian in my role as division director at Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce over the past 5 years and have seen first hand his passion and commitment to education and business engagement.
At his role for Bishop Vesey, Brian was the driving force behind a successful corporate engagement programme which brought tangible benefits to both pupils and schools and he worked collaboratively with the Chamber and our members.
During his role at The UK Sepsis Trust it was a similar story with his passion and persistence in spreading the word about the effects of this dangerous condition helping to raise significant amounts of donations and awareness.”
— Chris Brewerton, Division Director, Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce
“I first made contact with Brian back in 2016 through Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School, when he was organising their inaugural Golf Day and my company, X2 Furniture, was the main sponsor of the event.
This subsequently led to the development of the school’s Corporate Partnership programme which Brian shaped and built up, with X2 Furniture as one of the founding partners.
Over a period of several years the partnership grew under Brian’s management and developed into a successful association of over 30 local businesses who engaged with the school, through the various networking events he organised and it created opportunities for partners to help the school with talks, workshops, career advice, placements, work experience and other activities to assist and encourage students.
Brian also broadened the reach of the school’s Alumni network to further re-engage former students with the school and look for opportunities for them to pass on their valuable advice to current students, as well as benevolence through philanthropic support.
Brian has the great ability to engage commercially and personally with a wide range of people, bringing value to businesses, charities and schools by creating a mutually beneficial network which enriches all parties.”
